First Womens World Cup in Bansko

Fabienne Suter from Switzerland has previous only podiumed in World Cup super G races dominated the ultra turny Bulgarian downhill ski course.

Suter posted a winning time of 1 minute, 45.68 seconds, second place was Andrea Fischbacher, who had been fastest in the two days of training leading up to Fridays event.  Fischbacher, another Super G specialist had also never podiumed in a World Cup downhill race. Suter's best position before todays win has been a lowly seventh.

With only two downhill races left in the season - tomorrow's race in Bansko and then the World Cup final in Are, Sweden. This years Downhill Ski Title appears to be heading to Vonn.

Vonn now leads the overall standings with 1434 points to Riesch's 1088 and Paerson's 960 and leads the Downhill with 380 points followed by Dominique Gisin, who has 262 points.
