Courchevel will have six environmentally friendly chalets by the end of 2009. "With a great view, they are aimed at people who are looking for a better quality of life with green solutions and contemporary comfort,"  spokesperson for the chalets.

Overlooking the alpine village of Le Freney, the six individual chalets will take the shape of typical wooden structures for a traditional chalet feel with triple glazing and double ventilation for heating. A big underground individual tank will collect the rain to re-use the water for the toilets.

Courchevel ski area has 1,304 acres of mountain terrain. With 150km of pistes with 62 chairlifts making it a great choice for all levels with 27 green runs, 44 blue runs, 38 red runs, and 10 black runs.

Courchevel is also part of the Three Valleys ski area making the largest linked ski area in the world, with access to 600 kilometres of pistes.

Courchevel opens Saturday Dec. 6, 2008.
