The slopes

The Davos-Klosters ski area has five mountains on both sides of a valley. The mountains really do offer something for everyone, from beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Top ski runs in Davos and Klosters

Parsenn is Davos-Klosters’ largest and busiest mountain, with some great wide blue and red pistes that are ideal for carving, as well as some lovely tree-lined runs.

Madrisa is an ideal mountain for beginners and intermediates.

Jakobshorn is popular with snowboarders thanks to its terrain park and gentle, cruising terrain.

Rinerhorn is popular with the locals for its off-piste.

Pischa is a freeriding mountain with only half the runs groomed.

Top five runs

1. Parsenn’s pistes

The highlight has to be the network of long reds from Weissfluhjoch down to Küblis and into Klosters. These are some of Europe’s longest red pistes and the seven-mile number 22 red that winds along the back of Parsenn before dropping through woods and meadows into the hamlet of Küblis is superb.

2. Parsenn off-piste

In addition to good intermediate skiing, there’s also some more challenging terrain for advanced skiers on Parsenn such as the two black pistes into Wolfgang. Off-piste routes that are marked but not groomed or patrolled include “Wang”, the open, off-piste face of the Gotschnagrat area.

3. Madrisa

Gentle nursery slopes and long, confidence-building blues and reds for timid intermediates. Prince Charles is known to ski this area.

4. Jakobshorn

Bolgen - a beginner’s area at the base of Jackobshorn with intermediate and advanced skiers served by fairly steep red pistes and a wonderful, relatively easy off-piste route to the picturesque village of Sertig.

5. Rinerhorn

The locals rate black piste number 10, which descends over a 1000m vertical, as well as the off-piste.
