Eleven competitions will take place in all disciplines of the world-wide tour, with the first of them to be hosted in Europe. 


The race boarders kick things off for 2010 Kreischberg, austria with a parallel giant slalom today. Tomorrow (thursday) it's the halfpipe in a night final under the lights.

Then over the weekend snowboard cross at Bad Gastein’s Buchebenskiwiese.

Then snowboard cross riders will head to Switzerland to meet for their season’s fourth race. Veysonnaz celebrates its debut as a World Cup host with a SBX contest (Jan. 14-15th).

Then it's off to resort of Nendaz for a parallel giant slalom on Jan 17th.

Then it's off to Canada, a total of six World Cups are scheduled.

Stoneham and Quebec

Snowboard cross (Jan. 20-21) and halfpipe will take place outside of Quebec, the showdown for the first 2010 World Cup title will feature some urban scenery. Austrian rider Stefan Gimpl, who leads the race for the Big Air Crystal globe with 3,800 points, will battle Swiss competitor Gian-Luca Cavigelli, who with 3,100 points is the only other contender for this season's first final on Jan. 23. The carving specialists will then get another chance to earn some World Cup points in a Parallel Giant Slalom the following day.

In Calgary, all eyes will focus on the freestylers, who will come together in Canada’s Olympic Park of 1988. As heavy snowfall canceled the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup season's first slopestyle in Bardonecchia, Italy, it's time for another try at the end of this month. A double slopestyle final will precede a nighttime halfpipe competition Jan. 30 in Calgary.
