AN eight-year-old freestyle snowboarder, Brandon Bow, from Carmunnock, was on the slopes at Sno!zone, Braehead, when film producer Amanda Verlaque spotted him and thought he would make an excellent addition to her movie Fast Romance.

Brandon will be in a scene that sees the characters visiting the ski activity centre.

The film called Fast Romance - due for release next year, has been filming throughout Glasgow since July.

It follows the interweaving stories of seven characters in pursuit of true love.

Brandon's mum Margaret said: "When we found out he was going to be in the movie we were surprised. It just shows the amazing things that can come out of snowboarding.

"When it came to filming, Brandon was a little shy at first, but he completed the scene perfectly "It is good he is getting so much out of something he really enjoys doing."

Brandon will not be giving up the slopes for the movie set just yet because next year he is set to compete in competitions in France and Switzerland.

Influenced by his big brother, who also snowboards, he has already picked up prizes in tournaments at home and abroad.

Meanwhile, the British Snowboard & Freeski Championships visits SNO!zone on the 26th.

More than 300 of the UK's top snowboarders and skiers will be competing in the championships.

They include local rising stars Danny McCormick, 17, and 11-year-old freeskier Cal Sandieson.
