The Burton Canadian Open Snowboarding Championships, will take place from February 2 – 7, 2010 at WinSport Canada’s Canada Olympic Park (COP) in Alberta, Canada.

The 22 foot halfpipe is one of only three in Canada and was used as the model for the 2010 Olympic pipe at Cypress Mountain.

The third stop on the 2009/2010 Burton Global Open Series and a SWATCH TTR 5Star event, the Canadian Open will include slopestyle and halfpipe competitions, offering riders the chance to earn a piece of the $50,000 prize purse and gain valuable points towards Burton Global Open Series championship titles and the Swatch Ticket To Ride World Tour championship titles.

Competition will get underway on Tuesday, February 2 with men’s halfpipe pre-qualifications and qualifications, followed by the women’s halfpipe qualifiers. Wednesday, February 3 will see men’s slopestyle pre-qualifiers, followed by men’s and women’s slopestyle qualifiers on Thursday, February 4. All eyes will be on the slopestyle course on Friday, February 5 for men’s and women’s slopestyle semifinals.

The 22’ halfpipe will be the setting for Saturday’s men’s and women’s halfpipe semifinal and final competitions on February 6. The competition will wrap up on Sunday, February 7 with men’s and women’s slopestyle finals. Don’t miss your chance to see the Canadian National Team in action, featuring riders like Justin Lamoureaux, Brad Martin, Jeff Batchelor, Dustin Craven, Charles Reid, Sarah Conrad, Mercedes Nicoll, Charmaine Ironside and Palmer Taylor.
