CCV tracking type software being put to good use!
Xtreamcam, working with GDO, have developed high-end software that is capable of tracking and tracing people in a disorganized environment - the skier or boarder is then filmed with a special high-end digital camera Xtreamcam can follow up to 350 people per camera.
Skiers or snowboarders will pay a small amount of money (between 1 and 5 euros) for 30 minutes of film. Their lift ticket will be loaded in to the system and the camera, mounted on the slopes, will film large sections of the slopes.
When a skier or boarder enters the area being filmed, they will find a registration unit at the side of the slope and can activate the system by checking in with their lift ticket.
The software/camera system then “sees” the sportsman and starts tracking/filming him or her. After their visit to the slope they can then download their own movie which will look like a camera man has followed just him or her.
Giel Sieben of Xtreamcam has a good argument for more and more ski resorts to take up this sort of offering. "These movies will create a lot of commercial value for the ski resorts as well as a great record for the skier or snowboarder. When we think of internet awareness, logo’s and product commercials there is added value for the resorts installing it. The system can be installed in a funpark, any ski slopes, slalom course or any location where people like to be filmed.
And for punters, for the cost of a can of fizzy drink we can get a 30 minute film.
