Italian ski resorts open early

Passo Tonale is the latest ski resort to open its ski lifts. It opened yesterday, Friday November 7th with 1.8m (six feet) of snow on the glacier.

Which makes five with the other italian glacier resorts of Passo Stelvio, Val Senales, Cervinia lift-linked to Zermatt and the twice Alpine Ski World Championships venue, Bormio.

Bormio opened last weekend, a month earlier than planned, after snowfalls of more than 60cm (two feet). Bormio has two lifts open with five kilometres of piste.
