The Cervélo TestTeam rider timed his sprint to perfection with 250m to go winning by three bike lengths.

A four-man breakaway, were at one point seven-minute ahead but they were reeled in with 23km.

Yellow jersey leader Alberto Contador (Astana) keeps the lead despite having a small crash near to the finish

The fall took down more than a dozen riders, but as it happened with less than 3km to go, Contador finishing more than a minute behind the leaders didn't affect his standing as the overall leader.

Pre-race favorite (and Find Chalets fav) Frank Schleck riding for Saxo Bank fell in the tangle but was uninjured.
