8th November 2008
The O2 (you know the old Millennium Dome) will this winter have London’s first ever indoor artificial twin ski slope. It will be open from the end of November to 25 January 2009.
There will be twin slopes, both 45 metres in length - which is ideal for Londoners who either want to learn to ski or snowboard or for experienced snow lovers to warm up their ski/snowboard legs before heading to the mountains.

The Warren Smith Ski Academy will offer top level coaching for all levels at The Slopes. Ski and Snowboard manufacturers, K2 and Ride, will be supplying the range of skis and snowboards to rent.
‘The Slopes is a fun and safe way for both experienced skiers and snowboarders to gear themselves up for the real thing or as an introduction for complete beginners. The Slopes are designed for all abilities and the snow tubes are ideal for both small and big kids alike!’ Niccy Hallifax, Head of Special Events at The O2 Tickets start at £15 per adult per hour (ski/board rental additional £5) and snow tubes £8 per half hour (subject to booking fee).
Londoners have been campaigning for indoor snow slopes from ages.. there have been a few aborted plans, but there is a new development in Hemel Hempstead opening around April 09. There is also an indoor ski slope complex being built in Ispwich.
Hemel Hempstead, ‘The Snowcentre’ will have a huge 160m main slope and 100m lesson slope, both over 30m wide.
SNO!zone MIlton Keynes open since November 2001.

The 170m long main slope is covered with over 1500 tonnes of fresh snow, and there is also a dedicated lesson slope for beginners and novices to build their skills and confidence before progressing to the main slope.http://www.xscape.co.uk/snow/milton-keynes/
