BEST FOR ALL-ROUND PERFORMANCE
ENDEAVOR COLOUR £279
The Colour is light and manoeuvrable, it’s aimed at freestyling, and spins with ease off small jumps. It's got carbon fibre strand addition to the soft-flexing wood core, making it good for stable fast descents.
Verdict: Extraordinary value for money, and fast.

BEST FOR FREESTYLERS
BURTON DOMINANT £280
The Dominant is too soft to be really fast but instead is really suited to free-styling. Making it perfect for boardparks or terrain parks. It's ok getting between obstacles, but it's best at being airborne and doing tricks.
Verdict: Agile and responsive, not for fast downhills.

BEST FOR FEMALE DOWNHILLERS
CAPITA QUEEN £280
The Queen is specificially made for girl boarders - light, stable and stiff enough for everything from chopped-up, lumpy powder to icy piste.
Verdict: Well pitched for females, but don’t hope for aerobatics.

BEST FOR INTERMEDIATE BOARDERS
ATOMIC HATCHET £225
The Hatchet, Atomic’s bestselling board, is for riders with a little snow time under their belts. It has a soft tip and tail, giving extra control with a stiffer middle it is suitable for carving turns and off-piste freeriding. Importantly, it has enough “pop” to be playful.
Verdict: A great choice for anyone looking to stretch their skills.

BEST FOR ASPIRATIONAL BOARDERS
K2 ZERO £470
This is a serious board for the serious boarder - the Zero must be ridden fast to turn effectively and worked hard in the terrain park to make jumps, so it’s for competent, confident riders. It's quicker, sharper and whippier than rivals. It's great at making tight turns and powerful precise jumps it absorbs high-speed vibrations which make it fairly stable.
Verdict: Impressive, for serious boarders only.
