2010 Vancouver Olympic Skiing Venues

Whistler Blackcomb is pretty much hosting the Olympics although they are called the Vancouver Olympics... weird huh! Weird but not that unusal.

Vancouver 2010 - Olymic Skiing Venues

Alpine Skiing Olympic Venues:

The men's and women's Alpine ski races - Downhill, Super G, Giant Slalom, Slalom, and Super Combined - will be held in Whistler Blackcomb - on Whistler Mountain. Which for fact fans is about 70 miles from Vancouver.

The Dave Murray Downhill run on Whistler Mountain will host all the men's events.

The Women's and all Paralympic Alpine events begin opposite the Dave Murray run and begins on Wild Card, runs into Lower Jimmie's Joker, and after taking a portion of Franz's Run, the course finishes into the bottom of the Men's course on the Lower Dave Murray Downhill.

Nordic Skiing Olympic Venues:

Whistler Olympic Park is hosting all the Nordic events - cross country skiing, biathlon, ski jumping, and Nordic combined.

The brilliantly named Whistler Sliding Centre on Blackcomb Mountain is also the host venue for all the sliding events - the Bobsled, Luge, and Skeleton events.

Freestyle Skiing Olympic Venues:

Freestyle skiing events will be held at Cypress Mountain in Cypress Provincial Park, which is adjacent to the District of West Vancouver.
